Kaunsar Nag Lake Rescue Operation.

This incident took place on 30th of June 2013 at Lake Kaunsar Nag South of Indian Administered Kashmir, Where a group of boys had gone trekking for this Alpine Lake.
Nearest motor-able road was 30 kms away. 5 boys on reaching the lake we standing on a floating ice berg and suddenly it started to drift away slowly form the shore of the lake. Boys had no clue about what was going behind their back while they were lost in the beauty of the lake by clicking photographs. When one of them looked back only to see the ice berg they were standing on was 40 feet already gone from the shore. Swimming was no option here because of the temperature of the water. They decided to stay on the ice chunk until rescue arrives. One of the boys who was left behind went all the way back and informed the authorities who sent a chopper for them. Standing there for more than 6 hours of bone chilling winds and facing the hail storm. All the boys were airlifted safely.
