Severed is a game by DrinkBox Studios released on iOS, PS Vita, 3DS, and Wii U. It is a first person dungeon crawler type game where one uses the touch screen and stylus to swing a sword and interact with the environment. This is a speedrun of the Wii U release in 1 hour, 43 minutes, and 34 seconds done on Standard difficulty.

There are a quite a few mistakes in this run. I still don't have everything memorized in the route, so on occasion I go the wrong way or do things slightly out of order. I die a few times, but in less terrible spots than I could have. Dying puts you back a few steps before the battle, so time lost is only equal to the time spent in battle before dying.

I have a general idea of routing leveling up skills, however the body parts needed has not been optimized. I pick up as many as I can until I've fully leveled everything I want, which means I pick up a lot of items I don't need. I don't pick up giblets, and even though I level Transmute to get to the skill after it in the skill tree, I don't use it to make other parts since I get plenty throughout.

Otherwise, some speed tech includes using Blind on certain enemies to skip cycles or save time exposing their weak points. Devour is used sometimes to either gain health or attack strength, but is mostly used to take speed or defense off of certain enemies to make battles go as smoothly as they can. Rage is mostly only useful in the Dragon fight to try and reduce the number of cycles of combat. Routing and movement are the majority of the run, as it consumes much of the gameplay and knowing where to go and what order to do things in speeds up the run.
