A woman allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted managed a daring escape at a Tradition Publix on Sunday.

At 9:16 a.m., the Port St. Lucie Police Department was called to Publix at the 10400 block of SW Village Drive in Port St. Lucie to reports of a woman who escaped a kidnapping.

According to officers, a woman claimed she had been kidnapped from Hollywood, Florida, by a family friend.

Upon arrival, officers took the man into custody and began an investigation. The investigation revealed that the suspect forcibly kidnapped her from Hollywood and sexually assaulted her.
