It has been announced that eight resistance forces (PDF) operating militarily within Myingyan District of Mandalay (MDY) Region have joined together to form the Myingyan District Special Operation Column. The groups involved in this collaboration are the Natogyi People’s Defence Force (NPDF), Taungtha People’s Defence Force (TTA-PDF), Natogyi Guerrilla Force (NGF), Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT), One More Column, Ngazun PDF, Ngazun Fire Dragon Force, and the Ar Man Thit Leopard Force.

Why have these groups decided to unite at this time? What challenges and obstacles prevented such a coalition from being formed earlier? What factors are necessary for these joint forces to maintain long-term cooperation, and what principles should they follow?

These topics—along with key considerations relating to forming joint resistance commands—were respectfully discussed and presented by BBM’s Ko Htet Myat together with MBT commander Bo Mike Khal.
