The video features a music performance by the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Kirk Trevor) and a dance performance by The Harford Ballet Company. The music video begins with a 2-minute introduction by composer Karen Amrhein, and then shows the full-score of the orchestral ballet alongside video of a performance of the ballet by The Harford Ballet Company. The music is inspired by the early-20th-century newspaper comic strip by Winsor McCay. The orchestral ballet music of "Little Nemo in Slumberland" is classical music or serious music or art music or modern music, as you prefer, and is delightful and moving and exciting. It opens and closes with 1-minute trumpet fanfares.

The ten-minute ballet-proper for large orchestra is a tone poem depicting the main characters -- King Morpheus, Little Nemo, Flip, The Princess, and Doctor Pill -- followed by an adventure wherein Little Nemo is taken to visit King Morpheus, but Flip interferes, and after a fugue and an increasingly frenetic episode in which the themes for King Morpheus, Little Nemo, and Flip are heard simultaneously, Little Nemo falls out of bed with a crash. The ballet concludes with a gentle chiming of the clock, followed by a Farewell for trumpet quartet.
