This is a story about a young boy named William Ignacio Sabates, who among the thousands of children fled to America to escape Castro’s communist regime.

Once he arrived as a 12 year old boy, he learned to appreciated and never take for granted the gift of freedom, while working hard to achieve his dreams of becoming an ophalmologIst.

Among nanyacgurvenents both in athletics and academics. He was the first non American citizen to win the Morehead Scholarship to attend a 4 year pre med degree at UNC. After graduating with honors he attended medical school in Spain , a where he married his wife Angelica and has his two daughters Cindy and Kristy.

After medical school he began his practice in Miami , creating the Gables Eye Institute and becoming one of Floridas most successful ophalmologists.
He became a multimillionaire in his 30’s without allowing The fame or wealth to change who he was or forget about his humble childhood.

During his early 40’s he received a call from the Lord to leave it all behind at the peak of his career to relocate his family in the mountains and answer Gods call.

He dedicated his next 30 years in Fort Valley Virginia building an amazing spiritual catholic retreat center which he named the village of Mount Zion. And many cane from all over the works to attend the retreats.

His story is one of complete abandonment and surrender ti Gods Will… leading by example and teaching us daily that it is in giving that we receive. God will always bless our “YES” to answering His call. He never promised it would be easy here on earth , but He promises to walk with us every step of the way.
