The Soviet passenger liner Baltika had a long history, and sometime around the beginning of WWII this model was constructed – illustrating the ship’s configuration while serving as a hospital ship. Arriving in the shop nearly devoid of fittings, and without masts or lifeboats (save one) she underwent the long and tedious process necessary to repair flaws and source, fabricate and install over 100 missing or damaged items. In part 5 of the series, the final steps involved in her reconditioning are detailed.
