Step into the master’s concert led by Merve Abdurrahmani and her ensemble of world-class musicians based in Finland. Born and raised in Finland to parents from Kosova, Merve’s music is a rich tapestry woven from her Albanian and Turkish heritage. Her musical journey is marked by exploration and curiosity, embracing various influences from Western classical to jazz, Middle Eastern melodies, Balkan and Turkish folk songs, and Nordic traditions. Drawing from a kaleidoscope of experiences, Merve’s compositions are primarily original songs and instrumental pieces that beautifully capture her unique musical identity. The concert will also feature poetry interspersed throughout the performance. Together, let’s immerse ourselves in sounds that resonate with the stories of individuals navigating the journey from their parents’ turbulent homelands to new countries.
