(20 Aug 1994) As the new Russia opens its doors to the West, some long-hidden
treasures are being uncovered. Car collector Dmitry Lomakov plans
to put his sparkling collection of classic cars on public
display. Lomakov, with his older brother and their father, has
received permission to build the first classic car museum in
Moscow, and is now negotiating with Western automakers for the
funds. Between them, the father and the sons own 74 mostly antique
cars and motorcycles, all lovingly restored with their own hands,
using only original parts.
