An economic behaviour game is a way to test choices that you wouldn’t be able to test in reality. For example, if you were wondering what motivates people to donate blood, you could test this with an economic behaviour game and include choices that would not be acceptable in real life.

Professor Eamonn Ferguson is developing a behaviour economic game to model key features of blood donation, as part of our Blood and Transplant Research Unit (BTRU) in Donor Health and Behaviour. In this talk, designed for a public audience, he explains what are economic behaviour games and how we will use one to better understand why people donate blood.
