This is Steve Down and today I’m at the tallest building in Salt Lake City, the Wells Fargo Building. Today’s Wealth Wakeup Call is: A guarantee is a guaranteed loss!

Recently, I stopped by my bank drive-thru window to deposit $10,000. With my receipt came a sucker. As I sat in my car pondering the meaning of it all I noticed that printed on the wrapper of the sucker was the brand dumdum. I finally got the double meaning! Just look at the bank and credit union returns on CD’s and tell me what the acronym CD stands for. After taxes and inflation, CD means Certificate of Depreciation! Over the long haul, CD means Certain Death to your financial future!

I know, your banker will argue that your investment is FDIC insured. I wonder if FDIC stands for Fear-Deception-Ignorance and Control. Banks control trillions of dollars by capitalizing on your fear and ignorance! I’m hear to tell you that anyone who offers you a low single digit return on your investment or savings is someone who wants to control your money for their benefit and the best button for them to push is the fear button!

Then, what do they do with your money? Obviously, they invest it into the same economy and marketplace where they told you not to invest! The end result is clear. They build the tallest building in your city with their name at the top! Look at every major city and see for yourself whether or not most of the skyscrapers have the name of a major bank or insurance company at the top of the building. What I’m simply suggesting is that you bypass these 200 year-old institutions and become your own bank.

By so doing, figuratively speaking, you can build your own skyscraper for you and your family. Plus, you’ll put America back to work and show the world how faith, rather than fear, once built the greatest economy in history! Now go out there and create wealth!
