When I first started outsourcing to the Philippines, power outages and bad internet were just part of the deal when hiring there.

They used to have these things called rolling brownouts because the grid couldn’t handle the demand. And the internet? Honestly—not great.

Fast forward to today? I’ve got people on my team with 400 Mbps internet—faster than most people I know in the U.S.

Most Filipino VAs I know have a backup plan before there’s even a problem:
📶 Primary wired connection
📲 Prepaid wireless backup
🔋 Battery backups and mobile hotspots

So yeah, when I started, outages were common.

Today? I rarely see them anymore. But if you’re thinking about outsourcing, it’s still something to be aware of.

Because here’s the thing—the Philippines has come a long way with infrastructure.

And when you combine that with how reliable, loyal, and hardworking Filipino workers are?

It’s not even close. The reliability you get? Worth it every time.
