🚆 Agde to Barcelona by Train — but not quite as planned!

What should have been a simple direct journey from Agde, France to Barcelona, Spain turned into an unexpected adventure. Instead of hopping on one train, I had to reroute via Cerbère, a small border town on the Mediterranean.

Things went a bit Pete Tong: I missed the direct train, got stuck in Cerbère overnight, and only managed to continue my trip to Barcelona Sants Station the following day.

💡 Travel Tips if You’re Taking This Route

Book in advance: Direct trains between Agde and Barcelona can sell out quickly. Reserve early on SNCF or Renfe.

Know your backup options: If you miss the direct train, connections via Cerbère or Portbou are the usual alternatives.

Be prepared for delays: Smaller stations like Cerbère don’t always have frequent services, especially late in the day.

Overnight stays: If you do get stranded, Cerbère is a quiet border town with limited accommodation — book ahead if possible.
