Farmhouse Hallway Makeover | Episode 3 | Building & Installing Farmhouse Style Door Header Trim

The first project I took on in this house that actually required power tools was the beginning of replacing all the existing builder-grade trim. I'm slowly but surely switching it out with each area and room I renovate. Read More Below...

I started on this hallway transformation at least a year ago and originally I was doing much simpler trim. When I upgraded by dining room trim I decided at that point to spend the extra couple dollars to do just a bit more charming style of trim.

All the door and window side trim is a 1x4x8 trimmed down with my table saw to 3" (rips the rounded edge off the common lumber, see that video here:    • How to Use Cheap Wood to Make Farmhouse Tr...   & read the post here: https://capturingwonderland.com/how-t....

But for the headers on the windows and doors, you sandwich a 1x6 with two 1x2s which have also had their rounded edge ripped off with a table saw.
