NRC (National Register of Citizens)
People born after 24 March 1971, they have to show their parents birth certificate that they were born in india and are indians. When india's prime minister himself is unable to show his M.A. degree, how can a person would show his/her parents birth certificate, its totally illogic thing. When was NRC implemented in Assam, the result of it were so that BJP had to bring CAA. So, what happened in Assam. Supreme Court ordered the list of NRC for Assam to be finalised. When the list was finalised and made public, 19 lakhs people did not meet the criteria of NRC and were excluded. BJP had predicted that out of these 19 lakhs, 15-16 lakhs would be muslims but the opposite happened. Out of those 19 lakhs, 13-15 lakhs were found to be non-muslims. So, there was pressure on BJP to retain their vote bank in Assam because BJP had won election in 2016 and has government there. Now its going to be election there again in 2021. That's why BJP government is bringing CAA.
Now, implementing a nationwide NRC will be lethal. Hundreds of millions of people will not be able to show their documents because we are living in a country where 22% of people are below poverty line. Those who don't even have two pairs of clothes, how they can prove they are citizens of india. You and I can produce documents but what about them. Just like demonetization, everyone has to leave their daily jobs and stand in the line again. You and I can stand but what about those poor people who earns and eats on daily basis. In already downed economy BJP govt. forced people to stand in line again, that will make the economy even worse.
So, to give citizenship to those 13-15 lakhs excluded non-muslims who so far were trying to prove that they are actual citizens of india, now have to lie that they are not the actual citizens of india but migrants who have come from Afghanistan, Pakistan or Bangladesh. In that way only, they can get the benefits of CAA. And a nationwide NRC will exclude hundreds of millions of people.
My questions are :
1.Which indian, whose ancestors were Indians, is going to lie that he is not a native citizen of India?
2. What about the muslims who are actual citizens of india. If they can not produce the proof of their citizenship, they will become stateless because they can not get the magic wand of CAA.
So, it is clear that CAA and NRC are interconnected.
