Christmas Day in our African village is simple, peaceful, and full of tradition. In this video, I take you along as we celebrate Christmas the village way, from preparation to cooking and sharing food together.
Our day started with a visit to the local village market, where we bought fresh ingredients for our Christmas meal. We selected vegetables, spices, and bought a live chicken, just as it is traditionally done in the village. The market was busy and full of life, showing the beauty of everyday African village culture.
After returning home, the cooking began. We prepared tomato stew, made from fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions, and local spices. The chicken was cleaned and cooked slowly over fire, allowing the flavors to come together naturally. One special thing about this Christmas is that everyone helped, including the men. You will see men assisting in the kitchen, helping with firewood, food preparation, and cooking—showing unity and togetherness.
From cooking the tomato stew, preparing the chicken, tending the fire, and serving the meal, this video captures the true African village Christmas experience—simple food, shared responsibilities, laughter, and gratitude.
There is no rush here, just slow living, family, tradition, and appreciation for the little things. This is how Christmas is celebrated in many African villages—through togetherness, hard work, and thankful hearts.
If you enjoy African village life, traditional cooking, tomato stew, slow village living, and cultural experiences, this video is for you. Thank you for watching and celebrating Christmas with us.
