Delhi Dances to the Colours of Rajasthan: 33rd Rajasthani Folk Dance Competition 2025 Mesmerizes the Capital
New Delhi, October 29, 2025: The vibrant spirit of Rajasthan came alive in the heart of Delhi as the Rajasthani Academy hosted the 33rd Rajasthani Folk Dance Competition 2025 at the historic Aiwan-e-Ghalib Auditorium. The event transformed the capital into a miniature Rajasthan, resplendent with colourful costumes, rhythmic beats, and the cultural essence of the desert state.
Over 15 schools from Delhi-NCR participated in this grand celebration of art and tradition, with more than 150 students showcasing captivating performances that celebrated Rajasthan’s folk heritage through dance, music, and grace.
The ceremony was graced by H.E. Ms. Pradeepa Mahishini Colonne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest, who lauded the Academy’s tireless efforts in preserving India’s traditional art forms. The event also saw the presence of H.E. Mr. Karlito Nunes, Ambassador of Timor Leste, and H.E. Mr. K.L. Ganju (Hony. Consul General of Union of Comoros, President – HCCD India) as Guests of Honour, along with special guest Shri Dhiraj Dhar Gupta, and many distinguished dignitaries and cultural patrons.
Adding to the emotional resonance of the morning, the 9th Subhash Lakhotia Shrawan Kumar Puraskar for Exceptional Service to Parents was conferred upon Mr. Yogesh Singh Bhawra, recognizing his exemplary dedication and values along with an award certificate and Rs. 1 Lac.
The event also honoured the artistic achievements of young painters in the 11th Rajasthani Painting Competition.
Junior Category: Siya Kardped (Canterbury Public School, B Block)
Middle Category: Vikrant (Canterbury Public School, Bhajanpura)
Secondary Category: Khushi (Ashok Memorial Public School) and Shreya (KIIT World School)
The auditorium came alive with applause and enthusiasm as each performance illuminated the stage with colour and energy. The audience was enchanted by the vibrant choreography, traditional tunes, and the authenticity with which the young participants brought Rajasthan’s culture to life.
Dr. Gaurav Gupta, President of the Rajasthani Academy, extended a warm welcome to all guests and was widely appreciated for his vision and leadership in organizing such a magnificent event that celebrates India’s cultural unity. Ms. Suman Maheshwari, Secretary and anchor for the event, won hearts with her soulful shayaris and graceful anchoring that kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout.
The event’s success was also made possible through the generous contributions of the Reception Committee Members, including:

A special Health Check-up Camp was conducted by Dr. Mahesh Jain, renowned Naturopathy Doctor, with the generous support of Lions Club Delhi Veg, promoting wellness and healthy living among all attendees.

The event concluded with thunderous applause and a standing ovation, marking yet another milestone in the Academy’s journey of promoting cultural pride and youth talent. For one enchanting event, Delhi truly danced to the heartbeat of Rajasthan — vibrant, soulful, and unforgettable.
