Has Swatch Ruined Tissot Or Are They Better Than Ever? - Was I Wrong About Their Watches?

Do I really dislike Tissot? In today's video I respond to a series of comments on a recent video. After a rather critical review of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80, was I wrong about the brand? Has the Swatch group made a drastic mistake in the engineering and marketing behind their newer mechanical watches at the entry level? And what are the consequences to these changes in terms of how the watches are produced and advertised? Why do the rival brands and smaller independent Swiss, German, and Japanese watchmakers continue to offer better watches? Or is this merely what needs to be done to counteract the serious threat of the smartwatch crisis and the imminent demise of the "affordable," entry level, Swiss made market?
