Описание к видео Why Yesterday’s Artifact Episode Was Cut Short

Artifact Episode 2917 — November 5, 2023
Time: Around 8:59 AM
Why Yesterday’s Artifact Episode Was Cut Short
Yesterday, I started recording my artifact episode, but I couldn’t finish it properly.
My sister called me in the middle of recording. She’s been exhausted lately because she’s commuting up and down from VA to Nagpur, and her bike broke down. So I had to drop her home, which interrupted my recording.
When I got back, I had a lot to do.

About the Game: Observation Duty 2
This project is about playing Observation Duty 2, a game where you have to spot ghost activity by analyzing CCTV footage.
Your job is to find anomalies—like objects moving or changing size—something that only happens when a ghost passes through. You report these changes to a supervisor. It’s basically a detective-style game, looking for tiny, subtle changes in the video.
A few YouTubers have played this game before, and I wanted to give it a try as well.

The Challenge: Playing the Game
At first, I thought this would be a cool game to make videos about, especially since I can control sound effects and the editing process well.
But it turned out to be really tough. I spent about half an hour just trying to find the anomalies and couldn’t make much progress. The changes are so small and subtle that it’s hard to notice them.
I got frustrated because usually, I try to record about 30 minutes to an hour of gameplay to make a 10-minute video. But here, after playing for hours, I kept failing to progress past the first level.

The Workflow: Long Hours of Recording and Editing Prep
Yesterday afternoon, despite feeling exhausted and unfocused, I pushed myself to keep playing and recording. I ended up recording gameplay for about 2.5 hours without much progress.
After that, I went for a workout, showered, and had dinner. At 9 PM, I resumed recording with a clear goal: finish the first level no matter how long it takes.
I played and recorded from 9 PM to around 11:30 PM and finally completed the level after about 5 hours of total gameplay recording throughout the day.

Audio Processing and File Management
I don’t have fancy audio gear, so I clean up my audio recordings using software with noise reduction and filters.
The problem is, when I apply those audio effects in Premiere Pro, the waveform isn’t very clear.
So, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to export cleaned-up “visual” files — basically re-exporting my raw files with audio effects applied. I have six of these cleaned audio files and four gameplay files, each about 43–45 minutes long.
Last night, I spent hours encoding and syncing these 10 files so they’re ready for editing.

Today’s Plan: Editing
After this artifact episode, I’ll start chopping the footage. Removing the gaps will take a lot of time since there’s 5 hours of gameplay to go through.
Once that’s done, I’ll begin proper editing with intro sequences, effects, subtitles, etc. I hope to finish editing tomorrow so the video can be published the day after tomorrow.

Why the Delay Is Okay
My video production cycle has stretched from 1 day to 5 days now.
But that’s not a problem because my previous video—the City Skyline one—is getting good views (328 views), which is great since I don’t have many subscribers.
My focus is on quality—making sure viewers watch my videos for longer (average view duration is key). I want people to like the video and stick with it, not just click on a flashy title or thumbnail.
I learned my lesson from a year ago when I rushed videos and compromised quality. Now, I’m patient and focused on good results.
If it takes time, it’s okay—as long as I avoid procrastination and keep the quality high.

Summary and Closing
So today’s goal is to organize and chop the files, remove gaps, sync everything, and get ready for the editing process.
Thanks for sticking with me through this update!
