01:00:00 Point of view shot from driver's viewpoint of Mini being driven along a tree-lined road. L/S of Minis being driven through English countryside.



Production line of Mini is seen, various shots of men at work on the assembly line. C/U of man assembling components. Engine parts are moved along by mechanical means. Pistons are scientifically "run in". Gear box and sump are assembled.



01:01:53 L/S of thousands of Mini engines lined up. Giant press is used to stamp out parts of the car bodies. Men clamp and weld bodywork. Parts of the car are transported through the factory on overhead lines. Cars are assembled before our very eyes. "It's built up in sections, like a prefabricated house." states the narrator.



01:03:38 More shots of assembling and welding. The cars begin to take shape. Bodywork is lifted into the air and moved by electronically controlled machines. The welded body goes through the rust-proofing rotor-dip. We see the car being steamed and dried before complete submersion in the rust-preventing bath. Mini emerges and is ready for spraying.



01:06:07 Various shots of the car body being sprayed and then rubbed down by hand. 6 separate coats are applied - by man and machine.



01:07:13 The "trim shop" is seen. Women work at sewing machines and benches making the upholstery for the cars.



01:07:40 Various shots of electrical system being fitted to a Mini. The speedometer is fitted, then the steering column. Finally the front grille is fitted. The engine gearbox is fitted. High angle shot of men at work on the assembly line. Rear sub-frame is constructed. Parts are lifted through the air on a transportation line.



01:09:42 High angle shot of the main assembly line where body, engine and suspension meet. The narrator states: "once in position, busy hands begin to assemble the details to complete the most modern motor-car ever conceived." C/U of a worker. Mini body is moved around the workshop through the air by mechanised means.
