Dover Western Docks Revival (DWDR) is drastically changing the waterfront area of Dover with a new 250 berth marina, 550 metre long pier (the 5th longest in Britain) and commercial curve to attract a host of shops, bars cafes and restaurants with Dover's unique backdrop of the harbour, cliffs and castle. It also includes the relocation and further development of Dover's cargo business with a new cargo terminal and distribution centre, creating greater space within the Eastern Docks for ferry traffic.
Whilst also fulfilling the principal task of controlling access to the Wellington Dock via the new locks and bascule bridge, the building also commands one end of the recently opened Clock Tower Square which forms the central public space for the future leisure and commercial development of the marina curve.
HMY were also Architects for the adjacent Refrigerated Cargo Terminal and the restoration of Waterloo Mansions, the iconic cream rendered terrace on the beach frontage.
