Philippines issues NOA for BrahMos Super Sonic Cruise Missile for Philippine Navy

BrahMos gets 1st Order

BrahMos which is not only Brahmastra of India but is soon going to be a export success. Finally the wait is over and India has received the first export order for BrahMos Super Sonic Missile. And the first customer is going to be Philippine Navy as we have been reporting in our previous videos. This is going to be unprecedented feat for India as its the largest India's defence export order in history. Considering the constant threat to the costal sovereignty of Philippines from China, this is going to be big boost in their capability as we all know and have spoken multiple times that no Air Defense can stop the attack of 2 BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile. This is going to be most important defense procurement by the Philippine Navy. The missile has been procured for the shore-based Anti-ship Missile System. The deal is going to worth approx. $375M. Right now on your screen you can see the NOA from Department of National Defense, Philippines. If you have been thinking its over, it is not. Next we can expect the second order from Philippine Army which is likely to be expected next month and its waiting for Special Allotment Release Order.

BrahMos for Vietnam

The next country in the list of BrahMos Export is Vietnam. Like Philippines, Vietnam also faces maritime threat from China. As we all know that the Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had visited Vietnam in Dec 2021. In his visit both the countries had discussed defence and joint collaboration including training and maintenance of defence equipment. The export of BrahMos missile is also on the agenda. Since Vietnam shares land and sea boundaries with China its looking for both land and maritime version of Brahmos to counter PLA’s Southern Theater Command just like Philippines. India and Vietnam had agreed upon a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) in 2016 and New Delhi has also extended a $100 million defence line of credit to Hanoi.

BrahMos for Egypt

BrahMos Aerospace had actively participated in the EDEX held in December 2021. During the defense expo, India had showcased the land, water and air versions of BrahMos. The head of the Armament Authority of Egyptian Armed forces also met the CEO of BrahMos Aerospace. As per the middle east media reports the negotiations for the purchase of BrahMos is proceeding smoothly between the two countries and its matter of time before the deal will be inked.

However, India has one challenge before inking of this deal. As we are all aware of the rivalry between Egypt and Israel. If Egypt procures the BrahMos missile, it will be big threat for Israel as it has capability to dodge any Air Defense system due to its supersonic cruising speed, terrain hugging capability and S maneuver at terminal stage. India is under pressure from Israel for not selling BrahMos to Egypt.
