I'm running a special physics variation of the synchrotron tonight, I really think it could work. There's a small thunderstorm, but I don’t think it will affect the experiment as the lab is underground.

I'm taking advantage of this time to record some useful information. The experiment worked in an unforeseen way. Just before the particles reached their intended state, a lightning bolt stroke the lab causing a fusion, which resulted in an explosion that opened a hole in time and space, teleporting me to a barren, alien planet.

After evading a number of dangerous indigenous animals, I was captured by a race of humanoid aliens and taken to a subterranean prison camp. It's here where I found an unlikely ally and friend, I just call him "Buddy", whom without his help I would still be trapped. We had to evade capture battling soldiers and wild creatures in order to survive.

I am now separated from my companion. I hope I manage to find him. I owe him my life. Right now I am lost in a maze of underground corridors. I cannot tell how long I have been wondering. There are many guards roaming them. I must be moving along before I...

I just woke up, I remember going through the prison complex, heading to a tower structure to escape, but being attacked by one of the aliens before reaching the top. Buddy was able to help, but I was barely breathing when we managed to escape on a dragon-like creature.

We arrived at the ruins of a village. I realise now that this was his village, and that he used to be the leader here. Clearly, it was attacked and burned to the ground by the enemy's guards led by the same red-eyed alien that almost killed me.

I'm alone now, I still don’t feel 100%, but Buddy has returned to the prison to free his people, kill the red-eyed alien and set a detonator to destroy the prison.

I know I don't belong to this other world, but I know I need to help him, even if it's the last thing I do. I fear I won't ever be able to go back home, not from this another earth.

I got electrocuted while helping Buddy. He was fighting the red-eyed alien, I jumped to help and then it was all darkness. I felt like if was I out of time and space.

I woke up in a healing chamber sometime later. These humanoids, their technology, is amazing. They have a way to scan the DNA and basically make and clone of your body and transfer your consciousness to the new body while the old damaged one gets burned in a special device. I'm still myself, but my memory remains the same, it's intact.

I feel better than ever, I’m part of the community now, although I still have a lot of trouble communicating. The good thing is that I understand their technology, and if my calculations are right, I should be able to reproduce the same particle fusion that got me here in the first place, from there, it should be easy to open a portal back to earth. The only problem now is that I need to wait for lighting to hit in the right place, it could be a while. In the mid-time, life is not too bad here in this another world.

Ever since I got my hands on the old DOS version of Another World I’ve been fascinated by the game and its story as it was such a good game, so hard to play, so good graphics for the time and the ending was so unexpected and melancholic, it kept me wanting more for many years.

Early 2000’s I read on the internet that a sequel existed, but I had no idea of what the story was, as Sega CD was long forgotten. I got a ROM version but the game was hard to play got bored fast. Later I read that Eric Chahi, the game’s director, didn’t really approve of the sequel, but only suggested a few key story elements.

Just recently I found on Youtube full walkthroughs of both games in HD in all their versions, the soundtracks from CD sources and the SNES music, remixes of the music by fans, fan videos and an amazing recreation of the original game-opening by rickonami in HD. So I tried to put everything together to make one nice video that hopefully tells the whole story, one video with the best possible version of the full story-arc of both games.

I’ve really tried my best to get the best quality sound and video in order to make the story make sense as close to the original game look and feel. I’d like to add some voiceover but my voice is not a match for the character because of my strong accent. If anyone is interested in giving it a try, please do!

I hated the original ending with poor Lester dying and the sequel confirming it because of an idea Eric Chahi simply suggested. So, in the mid-time, I resurrected Lester in the text description, as a sort of fanfic above in the last entry of his fictional diary. It’s clear that that electricity didn’t actually kill him, he was supposed to join Buddy and be left on the planet trying to get the local technology to work for him to go back to the earth, right?
