Every August, Kolihapuri in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, bursts into colour with its Sports Festival — where children cheer, elders encourage, and everyone joins in tug-of-war, gedi races, bail daud, phugdi and more. The thrill of competition, laughter, and togetherness fills the village.

🌟 What began with Reliance Foundation’s support as a way to bring people together has today become a proud tradition — building teamwork, unity, and progress both on and off the field.

💧 Together, the community laid a 2.5 km lift irrigation pipeline that now benefits 80+ farmers.

🌱 They adopted line sowing practices, doubling yields and inspiring neighbouring villages.

🤝 A Village Development Fund, created and managed entirely by farmers, now provides families with vital support in times of need.

From water user groups to sustainable farming, Kolihapuri now leads these efforts independently, inspiring neighbouring villages. And at its heart, the Sports Festival continues to celebrate unity, resilience, and grassroots leadership.
