We take a look at the Makita subcompact xsh04 circular saw. Subcompact in size, using 18V batteries, this tiny 6-1/2 blade, light weight saw packs a strong punch. Great for small tiny jobs, or jobs where cutting is overhead or vertical, or in tight spaces, this saw is light and easy to use.

Saw is perfect when not on large jobs, and when needing something light and easy, or on the go. Performance testing ranks it the lowest on the current leaderboard, but don't let that fool you as the test were really designed for full size framing saws.
