TN Ministers To Meet Villagers Amid Protest Against The Construction Of Second Chennai Airport

Now amid the raging protest over the second Chennai airport. Three Tamil Nadu ministers will hold a key meet with the representatives of 13 villages surrounding Parandur, where the government wants to construct the Greenfield airport on the outskirts of Chennai. Tamil Nadu ministers will hold a key meet this morning at the Tamil Nadu Secretariat. While the Stalin government calls it a 'crucial' infrastructure which will help battle congestion at the Chennai airport and help the state government meet it's target of US $1 trillion dollars economy. For villagers it is a call for displacement and lose of livelihood. The construction of the new airport might increase flooding risk. Remember the residents of 13 villages have been protesting for over 144 days now.
