Описание к видео From ₹75 Crore Salary to Monk: Prakash Shah’s Journey 🙏💼

Prakash Shah, a former Vice President at Reliance Industries and a trusted aide of Mukesh Ambani, embarked on a remarkable spiritual journey by renouncing a high-profile corporate career and an annual salary of ₹75 crore to become a Jain monk. A chemical engineer with a postgraduate degree from IIT Bombay, Shah played a pivotal role in major projects like the Jamnagar petcoke gasification plant and petcoke marketing during his decades-long tenure at Reliance. Despite his success, wealth, and luxurious lifestyle, Shah was deeply drawn to Jain philosophy, a calling that grew stronger over the years.
On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti in 2021, Shah, then 64, along with his wife Naina Shah, a commerce graduate, took diksha—a sacred Jain ritual marking initiation into monkhood—at the Gitanjali Jain Temple in Borivali, Mumbai. This decision, delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, fulfilled a long-held aspiration to embrace asceticism. Shah’s transformation was profound: he now walks barefoot, wears simple white robes, lives on alms, and has vowed to uphold celibacy and detachment from material comforts. His son, an IIT Bombay graduate who took diksha seven years earlier and is known as Bhuvan Jeet Maharaj, also walks a similar spiritual path, while his other son is married with a child.

Shah’s journey reflects a lifelong pursuit of inner peace and spiritual fulfillment, rooted in Jainism’s principles of truth, simplicity, and meditation. His story, widely shared across media, inspires reflection on the courage to abandon worldly success for a disciplined, purpose-driven life dedicated to moksha (liberation).
