How to Factory Reset Apple Airport Express! Soft Reset, Hard Reset or Factory Reset your Basestation

This video shows you step by step how to Factory Reset your Airport Express. We also explain how to do a soft reset (if you have forgotten your password) or Hard Reset (to restore from previous settings).

Steps for Factory Reset:
1) Unplug Power Cable
2) Press and Hold Reset Button for about 10-15 seconds
3) Plug in Power Cable while still holding in reset button
4) Hold for 6 seconds
5) LED will flash amber
6) wait 1-2 minutes for airport to reboot
7) Light turns solid amber, Airport Express is now reset to factory settings

If you were using the Airport to extend wifi, remember to go into Airport Utility (on your Mac, or by downloading Airport Utility app for iOS) and forget the device.

Steps for Soft Reset:
1) Press and Hold reset button while power is still connected for ONE SECOND
2) LED will flash Amber
3) You have 5 minutes to change your password inside Airport utility

Steps for Hard Reset:
1) Press and Hold Rest button while power is connected for FIVE SECONDS
2) You can then go into Airport Utility and restore from previous settings
