Prostate Cancer - Dr. Shellie Gumbs

Dr. Gumbs attended Combermere school in Barbados and obtained her medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY), Downstate College of Medicine. She also holds a Maste of Public Health degree (MPH) in Health Policy and Management from the Columbia University School of Public Health.

She serves as a medical consultant in the field of perioperative medicine, providing care to surgical cancer patients at Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weil Cornell Medical College.

She is also the Medical Director for Memorial Sloane Kettering’s Rapid Diagnosis Program which accelerates the time between abnormal screening results and diagnosis/treatment and provides medical, surgical and psychosocial support.
She also sits on the Health and Public Policy Committee of the American College of Physicians and on its Council of Early Career Physicians.
