Cancer refers to cells that grow out of control. From birth, the organs within us and the cells within them are restricted to perform only certain functions. This control is genetically coded. When this control breaks down and the cells grow out of control, we call it cancer. There are many reasons for this. They include genetics, the environment, certain carcinogenic substances found in the surrounding environment, lifestyle changes, obesity, diet, smoking, drinking, and some viruses.
