NEO TOKYO

Описание к видео NEO TOKYO

NEO TOKYO is based in a concept of mine which I’ve dubbed “LAZER PHASER”, it’s basically taking more “standard” phaser duty and push it to the max using feedback amplified by several MEGAohms of resistance in the feedback path. Regular phaser can do this (in principle) using intricate self patching with additional boosting but Neo Tokyo gives you a fixed solution to this, which is integral to my own studio and production. It can get wild and out of control if you like that sort of thing (I do).
It’s also inspired by the manga Akira which was created by Katsuhiro Otomo and ran between 1981 and 1990. The first press of panels reflects this being a limited and unique run with AKIRA inspired artwork in GOLD on red (which is the first and last time I’ll ever do this).
Operation of this device is straight forward. Input 1 is normaled to input 2 so you can connect a mono signal into it and have stereo out (or why not a stereo signal into both channels). Same thing goes for the CV inputs, there is a reverse switch in between channels which makes the CV for channel two invert from the CV in channel 1. This creates alternating action between channels (and also weird phases, cancellations and mayhem depending on the feedback settings).

Availbale through Thonk and Modular Addict June of 24.
