The surface wind was very strong, but Maverick gladly offered to tow me. Thank you Maverick. It was great fun to fly 589 km out and return on the shortest day of the year. The moisture was too much to go south, and beyond Touwsrivier it was blue, except for some sparse rotor cloud. ATC was also great so I could get to 17000 ft over the rough terrain i had to cross
