THE COPPER FAMILY - HARD TIMES OF OLD ENGLAND

Just before the shutters were closed on normal life we had a fantastic visit to a local historical farm. Plenty of context for the family songs here! Charlie Cain the Area Ranger for the National Trust kindly showed us around. There is far more to explore at Saddlescombe and we intend to go back and see Charlie when normal life has resumed.

For more than 400 years our family have sung from our collection of old English songs that has been handed down from generation to generation. We are two members of the Copper Family of Sussex and we are exploring what traditions are, what they mean and how relevant they are in an ever changing world. Starting with our own collection of songs and our home county we are going to see what other deep roots there are out there!
