Adventure Racing With Broad Run Off Road

Adventure racing combines all the things that I love – biking, paddling and trekking, it’s basically a big scavenger hunt.

With adventure racing, people don’t know the course until the morning of, so the race location changes every year. State parks across Virginia, like Leesylvsania and Lake Anna, have provided accessible outdoor spaces for the Spring Bloom Adventure Race and Fall Foliage Adventure Race to take place. The races often introduce folks to Virginia State Parks for the first time. From then on, race participants know about these incredible, safe, outdoor spaces that often feel hidden in plain sight.

Events like the this support active lifestyles year-round – not only by creating an atmosphere where any level of athlete can enjoy the race, but also by providing much needed funds to maintain many parts of the parks where many athletes train. Without sponsorships from companies like Dominion Energy, much of the race fees from the Spring Bloom Adventure Race would go to covering costs of the race instead of supporting this beautiful, accessible outdoor space.
