How Does The Structure of Neurons Enable Your Reflexes?

Описание к видео How Does The Structure of Neurons Enable Your Reflexes?

Our nervous system is a collection of neurons that form intricate pathways of information (neural pathways) to allow for intercellular communications within our body. They do this by sending specific neurochemical impulses along neurons than connect or synapses with each others. The most common type of synapse is the one that connects the axons of a neuron to the dendrites of the next.

One example of the coordination of neural pathways is what happens when we make contact to hot substances or objects. The sensory neurons in our skin that detect hot sensation react and send impulses to the neurons located in the spines which forward the message to specific parts of our brain, often with the help of intermediary or relay neurons, process it and translate enough impulses back through the motor neurons to the effector organs, i.e the muscles.
