The Mauritanian government is working to unlock the social and economic potential of Hodh Charqui for harmonious and inclusive development.

Under the coordination of the Hodh Charqui Unit, local institutions and members of the Sahel Alliance are working together to improve the well-being of the population, including refugees.

Among the development projects coordinated in Hodh Charqui, the ProNexus project supports the socio-economic inclusion of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable members of host communities in Mauritania.

The project is supported by members of the Sahel Alliance. It is funded by Germany and implemented by UNHCR and GIZ, under the supervision of the Mauritanian Ministry of the Interior and Decentralisation (MIDEC).
