This unit is one of the super old oldest Gillig in VTA's fleet, in fact this bus is already 23 years old and it is still running strong! However, VTA is looking into retiring the old Gilligs, especially these 2001 ones. They will be replaced by the brand new 3400s, which are Gillig hybrids that feature the brand-new Allison transmission (altho they seem troublesome recently).

This unit does not sound very great compared to many other units in the fleet. In the video you can tell that the HVAC is on, along with the windows being stuck and not very openable. Even if one is opened, the Voith from the outside does not make a super loud sound. At the same time, the operator seems to be going slow and doesn't make this bus haul.
