Call and Response | Worship at Augusta Heights Baptist | October 12, 2025

On this Sunday at Augusta Heights Baptist, worship centered on the theme “Call and Response” drawn from the book of Habakkuk. Through scripture, song, and reflection, we explored what it means to faithfully listen for God’s voice in times of uncertainty and to respond with trust and action. The service opened with As the Deer, beautifully led by our musicians, setting a tone of quiet attentiveness to God’s presence. Together we lifted our voices in God of Grace and God of Glory and Open My Eyes, That I May See, echoing our prayer to be guided by divine wisdom.

Pastor Greg Dover shared a two-part message—“Call…” and “…and Response”—inviting us to consider how we hear God amid life’s storms and how our faith shapes the way we respond. The choir and musicians offered moments of reflection through special music including Call It Stormy Monday and I Will Wait, weaving together sacred and secular melodies that spoke of endurance and hope.

The service concluded with Eric Bebber’s poetic reading “Vinegar” and the hymn Jesus Calls Us O’er the Tumult, reminding us that God’s call is ongoing and ever-present. This time of worship was a meaningful reminder that even in the waiting, we are invited to listen, respond, and live faithfully.
