The Lee Benoit Family Band

The Lee Benoit Family Band perform a set of music on their back porch for the 2020 Natchitoches NSU Virtual Folk Festival. Lee Benoit has been playing Cajun music for 30 years, and performs with his wife Valerie Benoit on bass, daughter Maegan Benoit on drums and vocals, and daughter Rosemary Benoit on fiddle. The Benoits play both traditional and original songs in both English and Cajun French. Lee Benoit has won many awards from the Cajun French Music Association, including Accordionist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year (twice), as well as the President’s Award, the Award of Excellence, and the Heritage Award for outstanding contributions and dedication to the preservation of Cajun culture. He was inducted into the Cajun Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
