Aloha, beautiful people! 🌈 Join Alexus and Michi, your favorite fourth-year PhD students at University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and an international (American German) lesbian couple, for Vlogmas 2023 Hawaii edition. Alexus is a PhD student in Biological Oceanography (Marine Ecology, Deep-sea Biology) and Michi is a PhD student in Second Language Studies (Applied Linguistics, Language Teaching) at UH Manoa.

In this Vlogmas 2023 episode Day 15, we sit down with you to talk about whether or not PhD students and graduate students get time off in graduate school. We talk about what time off, vacation time, holidays, and (spring, summer, and winter) breaks look like as PhD and graduate students. As PhD students in Hawaii, we do have the unique opportunity to set our own work schedules and even work remotely in other places for some time of the year.
