Flash Trick Shots (Meta-Human Training Montage)

Hey everyone, this is a quick VFX/special effect short film featuring the Flash and Quicksilver super speed effects, Peek-A-Boo teleport, and Deadpool bullet slice/cut. There's also some cloning, muzzle flashes, bullet ricochets, and lightning effects. This skit was made using Adobe Premiere Elements 12 and Adobe After Effects CC.

EXPLANATION / TUTORIAL: For the cloning effect, simply film two shots (one with each clone), making sure they do not overlap each other. Then, once in Adobe After Effects, place one of the clips over the other and mask roughly around the actor (or rotoscope the actor entirely if you want the clones to overlap and come into contact with one another). For the Flash effect, simply speed up the footage of the actor running (using either Time Stretch or Time Remapping), turn on motion blur for the layer, add the CC Force Motion Blur effect (mess around with the settings here as needed to make it fit your scene), composite a lightning Photoshop sequence (such as the Strike Package by Film Learnin), and add a glow effect. For the teleportation effect, mask out the actor and mess around with the fractal noise, turbulent displace, and CC Vector Blur effects. Tons of chroma key bullet ricochets, muzzle flashes, and sound effects can be found on the Action VFX website.
