Dallas: AlNoor International hosted 14th annual Naatia Mushaira at FunAsia Richardson. World fame and Presidential award recipient naat reciter Ummay Habiba was the chief guest as she came from Chicago to attend the mushaira. Many people came to listen to her famous naat and devotional poetry. People in attendance heard her special and famous naats which created an environment of emotions, expressions and devotion. Mushaira was presided by Hamid Amrohvi and was sponsored by Dr. Shamsa Qureshi. Atlanta’s Pakistani community leader Sami Khan who came specially from Atlanta was the Chief guest of the evening. Among other poets Arif Imam from Houston, and Khalid Irfan came from New York. Among local poets Naheed Shad, Noor Amrohvi, Ghazala Habib, Dr. Shamsa Qureshi, Zohra Chishti, Masood Qazi, Manzoor Qazi, Saeed Qureshi, Aman Khan Dil, Syed Iqbal Haider, Aijaz Younus, also presented their poetry.
The event media partner was Jago Times and FunAsia. Mushaira organizers team including Mohammad Shaukat, Mohammad Shah, Irfan Ali, Rehan Qaiser and others worked hard to make it a big success.
Ummay Hussain recited naat at the end of the program which touched everyone in attendance. Sweet was also distributed at the end of mushaira.
This tradition of naatia mushaira is an annual fixture of Dallas Fort Worth. This year it was moderated by Naheed Shad and Noor Amrohvi. The event ended late at night where people heard highly emotional expressions and poetry recitation, expressing love to prophet (PBUH)
