How to stay safe on a day hike is a question I often see in social media groups. Safety concerns should not prevent you from enjoying a day hike in nature but there are certain basics to get right in order to stay safe. I stay safe by being prepared, having the right equipment and maintaining good fitness.
Day hikes are a great thing to do in order to train for longer hikes but it's easy to forget some of the risks associated with walking alone in remote places. If you have any tips on how to stay safe on a day hike, let me know in the comments.
