Gabriela Sabatini turned 40 this week, so in her honor we are turning back the clock to the 1985 Family Circle Cup when a 14-year old Sabatini beat 3 seeds on her way to the final against Chris. Gaby completed her QF match against Shriver early in the morning, defeated Maleeva before noon, and was ready for the final at 1 in the afternoon on Saturday, for a match broadcast live on National TV.

Although due to all the excitement Sabatini was generating, Chris is barely mentioned in the commentary until near the end of the match, we forgive them...it was one of the greatest overnight 'splashes into mainstream awareness' stories in tennis history. Happy Birthday Gaby!
