In this video you will see one such strike, guaranteed to drop even the biggest attacker down. Its best targets are the kneecap and the outer side of an ankle. Hitting either of these with even a light walking stick instantly drops the attacker down. Both targets are struck from outside the attacker's arms' reach.

The kneecap is easily dislocated by a strike, or if struck hard, broken, with either trauma making walking near impossible -- often standing too. Hitting the outer side of an ankle, either paralyzes the leg by traumatizing a nerve running between the ankle bone and Achilles tendon — this doesn't take a lot of force; or causes the attacker to fall and stay down, by fracturing the lower part of the fibula (calf bone) — this takes a stronger impact than that needed to paralyze the leg.
