The 4th of 5 videos documenting the arrival and operation at, and departure from the Dartmouth Steam Railway.

As a short “end of summer” project, I set myself the task of capturing "The Blue King" for the whole of the journey from Paignton to Churston from as many lineside locations as it took to keep the locomotive in frame the whole way. Continuity proved to be the biggest problem with different weather & light conditions as well as engine performance and as a result a number of shots had to be re-taken more than once. Apart from 50m or so of hidden track I think I have achieved my goal, the end result comparing well with the timetabled 15 minutes. Having struggled to get as much mainline footage this year as I would have liked due to “fire risk” and various other things 6023’s guest residence on the Dartmouth Steam Railway has come to my rescue and kept me filming.
