Bible Verses to Fight Lust (Scripture Meditation)

Описание к видео Bible Verses to Fight Lust (Scripture Meditation)

2 ways to use this:
1. Preventive - before temptation arises, it's good that we have already filled our minds with the Word of God. You may listen to this daily when you wake up, before going to sleep, or simply squeeze it somewhere during the day.

2. At the moment of temptation - If you're in the middle of temptation right now, you have to know that it's promising false happiness. The pleasure it offers is just shallow and temporary and it comes with terrible consequences because you will be committing it against the Holy God. Ultimately, it will not bring satisfaction but guilt and shame. Fix your eyes on what will truly satisfy - Jesus Christ himself. Go to Him. Wash yourself with His Word and let it soften your heart to obey the One who gave up His life for you.

I know it's not easy. You may feel like your body is burning and you have no choice but to give in, but allow Him - and not that immoral activity - to calm your body down. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, fight for as long as you can - even if it takes the whole day, or days, or weeks. He satisfies. In His presence there is fullness of joy, at His right hand are pleasures forevermore (see Psalm 46:11).

His commands are for our own good. They are for our protection. Trust His commands. Don't engage in what He has forbidden. Trust Him. Fix your eyes on Him and His attributes.

Additional note:
If you have been silently battling lust, I highly encourage you to open up your struggle to a trusted, mature Christian of the same gender. This sin thrives in silence.  It's harder to break away if you're dealing with it alone. Accountability is important.
