Itinerary
From the Pampeago Pass Trailhead trail 23 to Mayrl Alm (Malga la Mens) and to junction to trail 22 on minor road. Trail 22 towards Oberholz to junction with trail 18. Trail 18 to Forcella dei Camosci. From Forcella dei Camosci trail 516/18 to Forcella dei Campanili. From Forcella dei Campanili trail 511 via Ferrata dei Campanili del Latemar to reach Bivacco Mario Rigatti. Night at Bivacco Mario Rigatti. Return route via Forcella Grande del Latemar and trail 18 and 18/516 To Forcella dei Campanili and from there to junction with trail 516 to Rifugio Torre di Pisa. At Rifugio Torre di Pisa descent on trail 516 to Rifugio Passo Feudo. Connection trail to SP215 road and parking.

Trip Total: Approx. 13.91 mi, 4229 ft elevation gain.

Hike Notes:
This was my last hike in the mountains for this trip to the Dolomites. Certainly a great finish. I recall skiing in the Latemar during my time in Italy, but for some reason I never hiked these trails in the summertime in the past. I really wanted to do the Via Ferrata dei campanili del Latemar and spend a night at the Bivacco Rigatti which I knew it was in a very scenic location. I did not miss the opportunity this time.
In the Dolomites the Latemar group does not get the spotlight of other more renowned massifs. But it is a great mountain group with beautiful landscape features, great trails and constant expansive views toward other Dolomites groups. A joy to hike in the great early fall weather. The Via Ferrata dei Campanili was perfect for me after twelve consecutive days of hiking and backpacking. It is neither a difficult via ferrata nor is it too long. It was just right. Reaching the Bivacco Mario Rigatti and spending the night there was also great. Golden hours were spectacular both at the end of the day and in the early morning with amazing views all around. The weather was perfect. I could not have asked for more. I truly enjoyed my last hike of the trip in the great Dolomites.
