On August 17, 2014, the baseball stadium in Chiba, near Tokyo, Japan, was buzzing with excitement as legends took to the stage: Queen & Adam Lambert present a concert of great hits. Queen are on their 2014 world tour through North America, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe. A performance at the 30,000-capacity “Marine Stadium” as part of the “Summer Sonic Festival”, Japan's biggest music event, is a perfect fit. 2008 sees the end of Queen's collaboration with singer Paul Rodgers.

For his successor Adam Lambert, it is clear that he will never replace singer Freddy Mercury, who died in 1991, as a band member, but will perform the big hits together with Queen. In 2009, the two remaining Queen members Brian May, guitar, and Roger Taylor, drums, met singer Adam Lambert on the TV series “American Idol”. Adam Lambert is allowed to sing with Queen in the show “We Are the Champions”, comes second, but wins the favor of the famous band.

Queen snapped up the young talent and in 2012, two joint appearances with Queen were announced at London's Hammersmith Apollo, which sold out within 24 hours. In December 2014, Roger Taylor said at a press conference: “We won't work with anyone else after working with the great Adam.” At the end of 2014, the band is also part of the Christmas special of the “Helene Fischer Show”, in which Adam Lambert performs the Queen classic “Who Wants to Live Forever” together with Helene Fischer.

Queen and Adam Lambert continue to thrill fans around the world to this day. At the “Summer Sonic Festival” in Chiba, Rufus Tiger Taylor sits in on drums for a few songs. The son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor has been Queen & Adam Lambert's tour drummer since 2011. Rufus Tiger Taylor is also repeatedly associated with the Foo Fighters, whose drummer Taylor Hawkins died in 2022: Rufus Tiger Taylor sits on drums at the memorial concert for Taylor Hawkins at the beginning of September 2022.

In summer 2022, Queen will travel through Europe with their “Rhapsody Arena Tour”. When asked about his relationship with Brian May and Roger Taylor, Adam Lambert told Stern: “I like to think of myself as a guest of Brian and Roger. Freddy is irreplaceable, I don't want to compete with him, but at certain moments I'm very close to him. I'm a kind of service provider for them and the audience.” When asked about this closeness to Freddy, Lambert continues: “There are moments when I get goosebumps and it just feels surreal.
In the show, Freddy can also be seen on a big screen and his voice can be heard. It's amazing what that does to the audience. The audience carry Freddy in their hearts.” 3sat presents the complete concert from Japan with the big hits such as “Now I'm Here”, “Stone Cold Crazy”, “Another One Bites the Dust”, “Killer Queen”, “Love of My Life”, “Under Pressure”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”.
