Symphony No. 1: Beethoven announces himself | Gardiner and the ORR on Beethoven's Symphonies

Описание к видео Symphony No. 1: Beethoven announces himself | Gardiner and the ORR on Beethoven's Symphonies

In the first video of our Beethoven Symphony series, John Eliot Gardiner and the ORR explore the Symphony No. 1 in C Major, first performed in 1800 in Vienna. With its flashes of Haydnesque wit, this work betrays the influence of earlier composers, but a wildly energetic third movement points towards a ground-breaking vigour which is unmistakably Beethoven's.

Directed and edited by Richard Wilson. Produced by Bill Lloyd & Richard Wilson. Director of Photography, Benjamin Ealovega.
